Updates from our Working with Remnants Workshop a few weeks ago. We had a great time experimenting with scrap fabric and opening people's eyes to one of our favorite overlooked crafts, Quilting! We saw some very exciting projects in the works and would love to see some pics of them. If you have any photos of your work, send them in to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Also many thanks to Lena Hawkins, rebel quilter and remnants queen for helping us out! Look below for more ideas of projects to use your discarded fabric scraps.
Rag Rugs- look, crochet comes in handy!
Plastic bag dispenser- I'm sure yours can be prettier...
Cell Phone/I-pod case
Backpack- it's reversible!
And make sure to keep a look out for how many companies today try and reuse their scraps. It's economical and sustainable, whoduthunk! American Apparel, for example, has been doing it for a while now, with their Creative Reuse program. I mean, scrunchies from scraps? How easy is that!
